It’s elegant, easy to make, and guaranteed to disappear in minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 wheel (8 oz / 225g) Brie cheese
- ¼ cup (60ml) honey or maple syrup
- ½ cup (50g) fresh or dried cranberries
- ⅓ cup (40g) chopped pecans (lightly toasted)
- 1 sheet puff pastry (optional, for wrapping)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash, if using pastry)
- Fresh rosemary or thyme, for garnish
Instructions
Option 1: With Puff Pastry
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry and place the Brie wheel in the center.
- In a small bowl, mix cranberries, pecans, and honey. Spoon the mixture over the top of the Brie.
- Fold the pastry over the top, trimming any excess and sealing tightly. Brush with egg wash.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crisp.
- Cool for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with rosemary or thyme.
Option 2: Without Puff Pastry (simple baked Brie)
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the Brie in a small oven-safe dish.
- Top with cranberries, pecans, and drizzle with honey.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the Brie is soft and gooey.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm.
Serving Suggestions
- Serve with toasted baguette slices, crackers, or apple wedges.
- For a festive touch, add a sprinkle of orange zest or a drizzle of balsamic glaze before serving.
- Best served warm and gooey, straight from the oven.
Tips
- To prevent the cheese from oozing too much, chill it for 10 minutes before baking.
- Substitute maple syrup for honey for a deeper caramel-like flavor.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the topping for extra warmth.
